When and
how did the festival start?
It was from
November 2, 998, when a special day was created for them. This was instituted
by the Benedictine monk Saint Odilon of Cluny.
What
clothes do people wear?
some people
dress up in skeleton costumes and paint them like skulls.
What do the
people eat and drink?
purple
colada and guagua de bread.
What activities do people do?
altars with
offerings, sugar skulls, bread of the dead and various festive activities to
commemorate the deceased.
Why is the festival important?
It is a commemoration, like a remembrance that the Church makes in favor of all those who have died in this world.
